Condé Nast International signs new publisher to relaunch Glamour Romania with digital first format
Bucharest, October 11, 2018 - Glamour magazine will transition to a new publisher, a subsidiary of Newsroom AI on the 1st of January 2019. Newsroom AI is a media and technology company with an established track record in digital transformation and will be taking over the licence from Ringier Romania.
The new print edition will debut in March 2019 and will be the first Romanian quality title printed on 100 percent recycled paper, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
The website will go live on 1st January 2019. The new format is looking to re-establish the brand’s relevance with a broader spectrum of topics, targeting a wider audience. “Glamour’s audience today is moving to a different rhythm than when the title launched in Romania over a decade ago. We are looking to elevate the conversation with a new set of values for a more curious and connected reader,” said Diana Tofan, Glamour Romania’s Editor-in-Chief and new acting GM for the magazine.
The refreshed editorial team is focused on transforming Glamour’s storytelling processes with a new experiential approach that will evolve from mobile to print and into real-life events. The magazine will celebrate 12 years in Romania with an invigorated team, content and commercial strategies, a digital-first format, quarterly print issues and six events planned throughout the year. Glamour Beauty Festival, the brand’s flagship Bucharest event, has attracted over two thousand paying participants over its three-year existence.
“We are excited to partner with Newsroom AI to write a new chapter for Glamour Romania. It marks a new chapter for how we support brands in connecting with audiences in a more meaningful and impactful way,” declared Markus Grindel, Managing Director of Licensing at Condé Nast International. The company is committed to reducing the brand’s reliance on social distribution, favoring a homepage-first approach in search for smaller, highly engaged and influential audiences.
Glamour’s digital offering will be discontinuing all mainstream products such as display advertising, favoring native content and experience-driven formats that consumers genuinely enjoy exploring. “We are introducing a new generation of ad products designed entirely around mobile users,” commented commercial lead Iulia Paraschivescu.
